Why local matters for concrete
Central Texas ground changes fast. East of I-35 it's mostly expansive clay that swells when it rains and shrinks when it doesn't. West of town it turns to limestone and caliche that's hard to cut and drains in minutes. The same slab detail doesn't work on both.
We've poured on all of it. That shows up in how we grade, how much base we bring in, where we put the beams and joints, and how we handle drainage around the edges — the decisions that decide whether a slab is still flat in fifteen years.
